Event Overview
This spring, about 1,000 Westview students will be participating in the Annual Westview Triathlon. The Triathlon consists of a 300-yard swim, a 2.5-mile bike ride, and a 1.5-mile run. It's an unbelievable experience. Students who are intimidated finish it with a sense of accomplishment and self-confidence. Students may think that they have to win the event, but that is not the case. The triathlon is about trying, not winning. Students can take breaks as they swim or run — that's all part of the journey. There will also be drink stations and nutrition stations at various locations along the course to keep students refreshed and energetic.
Why a Triathlon?
  • It gives students the opportunity to experience a real-life healthy activity that was invented here in San Diego
  • It lets students know that they can do one
  • It gets the community involved in a healthy lifestyle activity by supporting students
  • It functions as a fundraiser for the ENS department so that it can provide quality programs
  • It's fun!
